Can Trump Even Run in An Election, and Other News

I actually think that Trump’s plan to get free media this time around is to leverage all of these attacks to keep him in the news. It wouldn’t surprise me a bit if some of the stuff against him might come from his side. I’m just sayin’.

In any case, here’s what’s news today in Trump land and other places:

I fully expect former president Trump to be convicted and go to prison (Today’s Supreme Court Cases Show Why President Trump Is Very Likely to End up in Prison); the establishment, left and right, is pulling out all the stops.

Even if former president Trump somehow avoids prison, he may very well be barred from running for president.

How is this possible? The best TDS-infected legal minds have concocted a theory that if not successful nationwide, it could disqualify Trump from receiving votes in a minimum of the 20 states with a Democrat holding the position of secretary of state.

Even if Donald Trump Avoids Prison, Will He Be Allowed to Run for President?

The important part of the argument that’s been floating around about the 14th amendment is not that it has to convince “We the People,” but that it only has to convince state Atty Generals to disqualify Trump from being on the ballot. I thought there were already some states voting to block him.

As former President Donald Trump faces yet another indictment, his supporters are growing increasingly frustrated with House and Senate Republicans in Washington, who are not exactly running to microphones to defend Trump. But after the most recent indictment in Fulton County, Georgia, at least one state lawmaker has had enough and is fighting back.

Colton Moore is a Republican State Senator in Georgia representing the 53rd State Senate district, an area north of Rome in the northeast corner of the state. On Thursday, Moore sent a letter to Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, announcing he would be pushing for an emergency session of the legislature to conduct a full investigation into the actions of Fulton County Prosecutor Fani Willis.

Will this work? Doubtful. I mean, even if they take out the one prosecutor you have to believe that there are others waiting to take up the prosecution– or this will end up with the feds before it happens. A nice stand on principle (especially if there are other things this prosecutor has problems with), but I don’t know that it changes much.

Some will think he never had anything and was just bluffing so his base wouldn’t get rattled. Others will start buying stock in popcorn. Who knows?

“I think [Biden] wants to run again, and I don’t think the Democrats think that he can win. I think they’re right, and I think they’re going to slowly but surely expose more of these very clear pieces of evidence of corruption.”

“If I had to guess, I would say that all this stuff that’s coming out slowly but surely about Biden is on purpose, and they want to get rid of him.”

Don’t we all know this to be true, really? I mean, things are coming out against Biden because Biden said he wants to run again. Had he not, it’d been all good vibes until the end.

But one of the reasons they can’t do that and that defense fails is because of how Hunter and Joe’s money seems to have been commingled. But now Republicans are reacting to a text from 2018 in which Hunter said that his father had been “using lines” on his account for the “past 11 years.”

Chairman Comer is now writing a strongly worded letter to the National Archives and Records Administration, tracing the documents backward, and asking NARA to provide unredacted copies of official government records from the office of the former Vice President.

Both of these point to the fact that the GOP House is closing in on the smoke… is there a fire? Will they actually do something about what they find?
