History has a way of repeating itself. Societies, cultures, and countries rise and fall. If we are to learn anything from what has happened over time, we should learn that those societies that choose to war with the Creator of the Universe find that He always wins.
This current culture is no different. This country is not that unique as far as its course through time. If anything, it is going through the process of growth and judgment faster than any have before it.
We are living in an age that is rebelling against God and His ways more and more each day. Sometimes it is blatant, and sometimes it is behind the scenes, but in every case, these countries’ people have decided that they would have their own way, that they would reject God’s way, and they have to live with the consequences of their actions.
Ezekiel 22:30-31 paints a bleak picture of God pouring out His wrath on the children of Israel because there was no “man … in the gap”. That’s where this blog gets its name Man, or M, InTheGap. Those that post here seek to be ones that would stand in the Gap between God and man, being a beacon and light along the lines of Matthew 5:16 — letting our light shine.
We do this not because we are any better than those around us, but because God has commissioned us to be the beacons of truth, to reflect His glory, to spread His love, and to be salt and light in the world that is bland and dark.
We do this by taking news items of the day and sharing God’s perspective. We look to Him for guidance in how we should walk. We desire to spread His justice and love, and to warn those that would rebel before it is too late.
