What a Biden Presidency Means For Abortion

To win the left’s support, Pres-Elect Biden had to reverse his stance on abortion, going from support of the Hyde Amendment to supporting late term abortions.

On day one, Biden has promised to roll back the Mexico City Policy, which means that tax payer dollars will again support advertising for abortion in foreign countries.

Reproductive rights advocates expect Biden to quickly overturn Trump-era rules, like banning federal funds for foreign and national health organizations that promote and provide abortion and giving employers more freedom to deny free contraceptive coverage for their workers.

“We have a ton of work to do to undo the harm over the last four years, but knowing we have champions there who understand what needs to happen in the first 100 days is tremendously exciting,” said Alexis McGill Johnson, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood.

This, as the country now recognizes that it has its first abortion-free state:

Missouri has become the nation’s first “abortion-free” state after its last remaining abortion facility stopped terminating pregnancies, according to Operation Rescue.

Reproductive Health Services Planned Parenthood in St. Louis was the last abortion facility in Missouri, the pro-life activist organization said in a post on its website Jan. 5.

“It remains open, but Operation Rescue has confirmed that no abortion appointments have been available there for months, and none are available anytime in the foreseeable future,” wrote Cheryl Sullenger, senior vice president of Operation Rescue.

The United States Now Has Its First ‘Abortion-Free’ State

The Federal bans and laws that Trump and the GOP Congress put in place definitely impact the number and types of abortions, but can be easily undone, as we’re about to see. The biggest difference in the number of abortions is going to be at the individual level– your friends, church and neighbors fostering a value of life of the unborn.

This is not something the government can stop– they could hamper rallies, pass laws to allow things, but unless they go all China one-child policy to combat climate change (and obviously one country did that!), abortion is still going to be a choice that you can help and have an impact on.

Pray. Be involved in the lives in your community. Teach those around to value life from conception.
