The Deep State Was Always Out to Get Him

“Trump will be able to say, with some credibility, that the Deep State really was out to get him.”Says Bret Stephens, in a conversation with Gail Collins, titled “Some Concrete Reasons Not to Be Totally Panicked” (NYT).The Deep State should have thought about that before going out to get him.

Also, if you think it’s credible that the Deep State is out to get him and that’s a reason for you to hope he’s convicted, you ought to be ashamed of yourself.

“What really worries me about this case is that, if Trump isn’t convicted, it is going to turbocharge his campaign.”

Obviously, this was from before the convictions came down, and it is entirely what former President Trump has decided to do with his branding as a political prisoner. Biden’s reaction– his creepy smile– indicates that he was hoping that he’d be convicted! And yet, he still persists.
