I wasn’t initially going to cover this story, as all politicians stretch the truth, but this one proves a larger point.
On a segment of the Fox News Channel the other day, reporter John Roberts said that he remembered that then-President Trump created the $35 medicare drug plan for which Biden was trying to take credit. Biden’s team shot back on X to say that he was wrong and lying. Roberts took to another show with the receipts, showing official government statements and a video of a Rose Garden reaction.
Lastly, Roberts quoted the Rand Corporation, which provided details on how successful the plan was. In fact, it was so successful that Biden’s $35 insulin cap, which he has bragged incessantly about, was simply an expansion of the plan Trump had already put in place. Ironically, that almost didn’t happen, though. Why? Because in all his pettiness, Biden paused the plan on his second day in office. Roberts didn’t mention that, but he really should have.
Fox News’ John Roberts Responds to Biden Campaign Calling Him a Liar in Brutal Takedown – RedState
It’s this last part that bears repeating. When President Biden took office, he really didn’t care how effective anything Trump did was– he wanted it all stopped– at least until and if it could be rebranded.
He took Trump’s COVID response, stopped it, claimed Trump didn’t have a plan, and then announced a similar plan as his own. And now we learned that he stopped this benefit only long enough so that he could hope people forgot it was Trump’s, and he could rebrand it as his own.
This man (or his handlers) has never been about what’s best for the country, but what’s best for him politically or his group and their goals.
