The Death of the Control of the RNC

During his opening statement at the last GOP debate, Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy laid the defeat of the 2023 election (Virginia, Ohio’s Abortion Amendment, etc) at the feet of the President of the RNC, Ronna McDaniel. He said that she should resign. Days afterward, in interviews, McDaniel has tried to say that they weren’t asked for help, but that has been firmly rebutted.

That doesn’t mean the money would have changed anything, but it does show that the national RNC doesn’t think that the state races are all that important– or that they figured that the states have it and don’t need any help from the feds.

And they are wrong.

So, what’s happening is a weakening of the RNC– setup by Trump and loosely affiliated with him as the party typically gets remade in the image of the man who gains the Presidency– and the candidates are taking over. This is why DeSantis is going to attend a forum in Iowa that the RNC said would disqualify him from any more primary debates (if they have them?).

Good job, everyone but the RNC.
