What is the Solution for a Partisan FBI?

With Trump’s indictment coming soon, the question is, what will the House GOP do? And the answer is, not much.

Seriously.

There’s been some conversation about abolishing or defunding the DOJ and FBI, but that’s not going to happen. There are legitimate things these offices do that are not related to politics, but where they are related to politics, they are broken. The past democrat administrations have weaponized these justice-oriented groups in a single effort to take down a candidate and President of an opposition party.

There’s no trust that these groups are either independent from or not influenced by the politics of who is in charge of the current administration. Just think about it– does anyone trust that the FBI is taking the accusations of Hunter Biden seriously? Bribery by then Vice President Biden?

How about how former President Trump’s document indictment might put him being investigated after he might be selected by the Republicans for Presidential candidate– or that the other trial on the Stormy Daniels payment isn’t taking place until the beginning of the Republican primaries?

No one on either side trusts these groups, and I’m not sure how you encourage faith in them any further because of their current actions. Having everything hiding behind national security secrets doesn’t help either.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), a fellow member of the Judiciary Committee, on Monday called Garland the most “political” attorney general in U.S. history.

“This attorney general, Merrick Garland, is the most partisan, he is the most political attorney general in our nation’s history,” Cruz told Fox News host Sean Hannity. “I believe Merrick Garland will indict Donald Trump. He wants to indict Donald Trump because he hates Donald Trump.”

Cruz accused the attorney general of carrying a grudge over getting blocked from getting confirmed to the Supreme Court in 2016, when then-President Obama nominated him to fill the seat held by late Justice Antonin Scalia.

The Texas senator predicted Garland would charge Trump with obstruction of justice for hiding classified documents stored at Mar-a-Lago from federal prosecutors to rationalize the decision to charge Trump but not Biden for improper handling of top-secret information.

GOP warns of pushback ahead of looming Trump indictment

Again, they aren’t going to do anything but talk. To do anything else would require that they actually have to take a stand prior to an election and we know that won’t happen.
