Everyone is expecting that there will be a decision soon about whether to indict Donald J. Trump on the document scandal– documents that he kept from his Presidency and brought to Mar-a-Lago and that the government wanted back.
Many figure that there will be an indictment– politically motivated or legitimate– with Trump’s legal team recently leaving the DOJ offices. And any time we’re talking DOJ and Trump, the media goes out and find’s Bill Barr and asks him what he thinks about it all.
“In fact, they approached this very delicately and with deference to the president,” Barr told Gayle King on “CBS Mornings.”
The investigation would have “gone nowhere” had Trump simply returned the documents, he continued. “But he jerked them around for a year and a half.”
There is “no excuse for what he did here,” Barr said of Trump, adding that “whether it’s a crime or not, remains to be seen.”

Barr finishes out by saying that if Donald J. Trump is the GOP nominee in 2024, he’ll still vote for him!
