A. W. Tozer said that you can find out a lot about yourself by seeing where your mind goes when you have nothing at all to think about. A godly husband’s mind should go to God, wife and family. Where does yours go?
So here’s a tough question– how well do you know your wife? We are supposed to dwell with them in all wisdom… which means not only being wise as it relates to how to treat her but to actually know her!
Does your very being long to be there for your family, or is your longing and desire to be somewhere else or doing something else?
Husbands, have you made sure that your thoughts of intimacy center around and through your wife? She is the blessing given to your life for you!
Your wife’s body is yours as part of the covenant of marriage– just as yours is hers. Paul tells us that we should treat our wives as we would treat ourselves. So how are you loving your wife like yourself?
When there’s a problem, are we the first to fix it? When there’s something to plan, are we out in front? A leader needs to be out in front, the man with the plan, and getting a strategy in place for their household.
How are you with your words? We need to make sure that we communicate precisely what we’re thinking and make sure that it’s clear with the receiver what we’re thinking.
