Want An Anti-Family Cell Phone Plan?

baby.jpgLooking at our budget last night, Virtuous Blonde and I wondered if we could get a better plan than how we’re currently doing cell phone payments. We’re using tracphones right now, but it is a pain to renew every 60 days (haven’t saved up to by a year long card yet) and most of my family has jumped on one or another’s family plan and just pay the primary holder $10. I’m not one to like to mooch off of family’s plans (I guess that we help each other out in various other ways) so I started to do some research.

Today, I came across the American Princess which has a link to a phone company whose “family” plan is only $39.99. The catch? They are a “progressive” organization that supports democracy and a handful of causes. Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-choice America being two of them. Needless to say, I won’t be signing up with them any time soon!

This is one of the Christian’s biggest dilemma in our country, how to be a good steward while not supporting sin– especially the murder of unborn babies. Virtually everything that we buy has a link to some organization that has chosen to support something that we are against. At the same time, these same places offer the cheapest deals. If we were to try to find places that absolutely did not support something we disagreed with, it would be very expensive (if it exists) and it would be hard to make sure that they stayed that way.

So, what do you think we should do? Personally, I believe it’s the individual’s responsibility to take care of how they use their money and whom they support. Therefore it’s the company that chooses to support PP that is responsible. However, somewhere is also a line– and when there is an alternative, we should use it.

  1. Interesting article. Got me thinking…
Can we, seriously, live without this? Or are we able to stay apart?
How much time and effort is needed in order to investigate these things?

Literally everything is more or less polluted with sin…
