More babies have been born alive than would have been under Roe v. Wade, which is part of the reason why removing that ruling had been a priority of the Pro-life movement since 1973.
[S]ince late 2022 four studies analyzing birth data have provided strong statistical evidence that recently enacted pro-life laws have saved lives. My Lozier Institute study (November 2022), a Journal of the American Medical Association study (June 2023), and a University of Houston study (January 2024) all show that the Texas Heartbeat Act resulted in approximately 1,000 more children being born in Texas every month. Also, a study from November 2023 by the Institute for Labor Economics showed similar findings. Analyzing birth data from the first six months of 2023, the study found significantly higher birth rates in 13 states enforcing strong pro-life laws than in 25 states where abortion remained legal.

What’s amazing to me is that every generation has had people value themselves over the next generation, flying in the face of the first command to Adam and Eve– be fruitful and multiply. Not every abortion is a matter of convenience or entered into hastily, but every abortion kills a unique individual that was created inside the mother.
Even the situation that is going on in Alabama with Invitro fertilization (IVF) shows that there are people out there who want babies– they’re the most sought-after children in the adoption system. The cultural war that we are facing that stresses self over others only ends in anarchy and destruction and is yet another indicator of our decaying empire.
