Thank God that there are people out there trying to protect children from people like Corey Miller (pictured left). With the advances in technology and the way in which people no longer have to see each other to build strong emotional bonds, it is easy for predators to find victims online– and I’m so thankful for those that catch these predators, and that the predators aren’t smart enough to keep from being caught.
There are many such groups, and even though news magazines like Dateline NBC feature these efforts– people do not know enough not to go meeting underaged children. Mr. Miller was an unusual case:
“He advised he didn’t have a driver’s license even though he was 26-years-old,” says Shannon Hills Police Chief Richard Friend.
So the “girl” suggested the man take a taxi.
“The suspect was so driven to facilitate this crime, that he called a cab, got the address, and then had a cab drive him to where he thought a sexual act was going to occur,” says Friend.
Investigators gave him the address, 13908 High Road, which turns out to be the police department.
Police video shows the yellow cab pulling up to the station where officers arrested Corey Miller, 26. On him, police say they found a bag of marijuana and a bag of condoms. It’s yet another sex sting in Saline County caught on tape.
So thank you, those of you out there keeping these people away from our children. I hope eventually these men and women get the idea and learn to have an appropriate sexual relationship with their husbands/wives.
