Some people write their own vows. Others recite the ones from a book, or the ones that the officiant has prepared.
Do you remember your wedding vows?
Did you promise your spouse things like to be faithful, to be there in good times and bad?
Looking back on those vows, do they help you to stay focused and keep you together or have you forgotten about them?
Are you keeping your wedding vows to your husband before God?
Scripture points out that part of the curse was that the woman would have her husband rule over her. Many scholars believe that part of this is that there would be tension between them with the wife constantly trying to rule over the husband.
It would have been so much better not to have sinned. But given this, godly wife, do you rule over your husband, or do you follow his lead?
Godly wife, are you still taking advice from your family or holding stronger familial bonds to them than your husband? It’s easy to do, especially when you first started out together.
You’re part of a new family, and so it’s important that the two of you stand together, even if it’s your parents that have different views from your family.
Two have become one.
