Do you ever think about how it must be tough for your preacher to get up, week after week, and proclaim the Gospel? What an awesome responsibility! Here’s a good prayer for them, from one preacher to another.
My daughter has been asking all sorts of questions about Heaven—what it’s like why should we want to go there, etc. This post reminds me of that, in that our kids asking us spiritual questions is an opportunity to pass on God to them. Let’s not take these opportunities for granted.
Alabama Still Collecting Taxes for Confederate Civil War Veterans
Taxes are never temporary—part of why you can’t trust the Federal Government (or any government for that matter) on taxes. Here’s a tax that was for Confederate soldier’s pensions. However, the last veteran died generations ago, and Alabama residents were still paying the tax!
Though this post starts out in an interesting way, the meat of it is the question of what are the quality of your relationships? If you would leave somewhere, would you be missed? Are you investing in someone, or multiple people?
Tom Coburn: Tax Expenditures Are Socialism
According to Sen. Coburn, when the government chooses to help one group at the expense of another, wealth is being distributed to one group and taken from another. This is socialism.
It’s amazing, but as I take my children to different parks I realize that they are much “safer” than they were when I was a kid. And that has led to kids trying to do unsafe things with these “safe” parks.
