If it’s with the Vice President of the United States it may cost $1000, but how much is it worth? The fact that these people who have really no difference from you and I in God’s eyes have a position or degree of popularity that they can command such a fee is quite an interesting concept. If I were to go to a hotel, rent out a room and offer people to have picture with me (unless I was really clever at being a con artist) for a a small fee, I doubt I’d get any takers.
The real heros in this life are like that. The people that have really accomplished something, be it for their fellow man or for God, generally aren’t the kind that have to worry about how much a picture with them costs. It’s like the baseball players of old that could not care less how much the ball they hit out of the park, their signature, or the clothes that they wore were worth. They played the game and loved it.
That’s not to say that I can ignore the realities of trying to raise money for a campaign, but I’m paying Cheney to be in these different locales already, then to have him charge for his picture!
However, on the other side of the coin, it would be interesting for future generations to see that their parent was photographed with a head of the government and those that do ancestries would have something interest to catalog. How much would it be worth then?
Maybe I’ll just break out photoshop! 🙂
