What a great story! Michelle Wetzell was adopted when she was 4 days old. Like I imagine most adopted children, she wanted to find out who her birth mother was, and dreamed of sending her a coupon for a free manicure from the place here she works.
The funny thing was, she was working at the same place as her daughter for part of 1996! They were in the same building!
They were both working for Hair By Stewarts in the NorthPark Mall in Illinois. They did not get much of a chance to talk while on the job, and they wonder what could have happened had they gotten to know each other!
Adoption is an amazing thing. It gives a child life in a home with people that can care for it and gives a mother in crisis a way out that does not end in killing their baby. It also provides, in this case, with the chance to get to know your child as an adult!
What a difficult thing to do, though, to give up a child for an adoption! It requires giving up some selfish desires and truly thinking of the baby first. And then, on the parents side, it requires loving a baby that you did not bring forth, but that has been entrusted to your care. What a great picture of love!
