I once read that C.S. Lewis thought that his books shouldn’t be adapted to video. Whether that’s true or not, it’s interesting to see that even this latest attempt to make and profit from Narnia has failed… and for interesting reasons.
It’s quite the downer when your big stars are told they can’t come back to Narnia, when the people age strangely between the two places, and the other world is more important to the author than your own. Doesn’t exactly fit the blockbusters of today when you make multiple movies with the same cast and follow them as they age.
Seems like Netflix understood this when they said that they were going to set other stories in Narnia, but I bet they couldn’t get the feel right either.
