Many of us that run blogs wonder just how valuable is it to be involved in different online social networks. Does it really get me more traffic? How much effort is it?
I’m currently in a few social networks myself– some I’ve found from time to time, some I use and some I’ve let go by the wayside.
So, I want to run an experiment. And I’m going to let you in on the adventure. I’m going to commit to using one social network for one month– that means that it’ll be the only place I go to for out-of-the-box web content, and I’ll comment there, and try to build up my persona there. I’ll use Google Analytics to track how many referrals come from that social network and see just how much it helps to work with these networks.
Maybe I get more readers, maybe I have more fun, maybe I find new topics– who knows!
So, this month (from October 16th to November 16th) I’m going to use StumbleUpon exclusively. At the end of the month I’ll let you know how it went.
Are any of you on Stumble and I don’t have you as a friend? Follow the link and you can see my Stumble blog– you can also sign up, get a toolbar and join me!
