You Can’t Trust Everything You Read…

… or can you? This article from the Guardian Unlimited today explores fake news– on the web and otherwise.

It seems that there are more and more people coming up with their own news or satire and ensnaring others in their web. With the number of people reading weblogs and other sites, with links to other places, it’s easy for news and things that are not news to get mixed up.

The article talks a little about trying to figure out whether it is that there are more corruption now, or that there are easier ways to detect the corruption now, and that it was always present. It certainly shows just how powerful the media used to be, and how its power is quickly deteriorating.

The problem is, if I’m not supposed to believe what I read on the ‘net, how do I believe this article?
