Answers In Genesis Museum gets Mentioned In Main-Stream Media

The biased press has an article on the Answers In Genesis Museum due to open next Spring. The press totally misses the point of the Museum, though it claims that it has it pretty well understood:

Like most natural history museums, this one has exhibits showing dinosaurs roaming the Earth. Except here, the giant reptiles share the forest with Adam and Eve.

That, of course, is contradicted by science, but that’s the point of the $25 million Creation Museum rising fast in rural Kentucky.

Notice again in the article that the author continually puts “scientists” up against “creationists” even though he does mention that the Museum is impressive.  He continually frames things to say that Ken Ham is trying to say that there Creationists have answers, but scientists have already proved them wrong.  Like this quote:

Scientists say fossils and sophisticated nuclear dating technology show that the Earth is more than 4 billion years old, the first dinosaurs appeared around 200 million years ago, and they died out well before the first human ancestors arose a few million years ago.

“Genesis is not science,” said Mary Dawson, curator emeritus of vertebrate paleontology at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh. “Genesis is a tale that was handed down for generations by people who really knew nothing about science, who knew nothing about natural history, and certainly knew nothing about what fossils were.”

What they leave out here is that there are scientists on both sides, and that you cannot prove history with scientists– none of these scientists that believe in evolution were there.  As proof– scientists can’t even agree on how old the Earth has been there, whether it’s uniform in development or catastrophic– the only thing they can seem to remain constant about it that it didn’t happen the way the Bible says.

In the mean time, Answers In Genesis is rejoicing over the latest donation that seems to be the reason behind this article.  Although a majority of the funding has come through small checks, a check for $1,000,000 came in this week.  The Museum is on track to be debt free when it opens.  This is simply amazing!  It will definitely be worth a visit– whether you agree with Young Earth Creation or not.

  1. Do you think you’ll visit the museum? It’s a bit far for us, but if we were going that way I’d certainly stop in. It sounds very interesting, maybe it can be next summer’s vacation destination.

Thank you for the compliments on my girls’ pictures. Their father is quite upset that they look like young women now, he totally preferred it when they didn’t! Only God will be able to soothe him these next few years. 😉

  2. I’d love to visit…always wanted to spend some time in Kentucky! That is awesome that the museum will open debt-free! Wow, God really provides. AIG has a great site, I’m always fascinated with the thought that there are still dinosaurs out there! My girls have A is for Adam, their computer game and dh and I have both found it a fun-play as well.
Great to know about this museum…and I read the original article…ha.

  3. Shelli – Virtuous Blonde and I want to visit it when it is open, though it might have to be a field trip or vacation because it is a distance for us as well. I don’t have to worry about little girls growing up because I don’t have any… yet.

Mary – They are a great ministry. I went to college with Ken Ham’s son, Nathan. Been trying to get him to post on this site. He gave me permission to show a rather funny video of him, but I’m not sure I could do that to his dad! I’ll keep working on him.

  4. Frenzy and I are looking forward to attending this museum once it opens, next year. What a blessing of a donation! How terrific for them to be starting out debt-free! 🙂 Maybe we’ll see you and your family there. 😉

  5. Boy would that be interesting! It certainly seems that God has blessed the endeavor, and it will be great to have a place that will glorify God in the world’s origins!
